PNEUMATIC DIAPHRAGM PUMP

Pneumatic diaphragm pumps are positive displacement pumps that are suitable for the most demanding industrial applications thanks to their simple operating principle combined with a compact and reliable design. In addition to their high-quality workmanship and innovative technology, the pneumatic diaphragm pumps are characterised by their simple and compact design. The design enables different types of installation, so that the pumps can be integrated into almost any existing machine park. Pneumatic diaphragm pumps can also be designed with inlet, as suction or submerged versions.

DESIGN FEATURES OF THE PNEUMATIC DIAPHRAGM PUMP

Pneumatic diaphragm pumps consist of a double housing containing two membranes connected by a connecting rod. These are pressurised on their outside by the conveyed medium and on their inside by the compressed air. When the diaphragm has reached its end position, a valve is actuated via the connecting rod which converts the compressed air to the other diaphragm. As the only positive displacement pump, the delivery volume is adjusted by throttling on the pressure side.

PLASTIC PUMPS FROM PE AND PTFE

Especially in surface technology plants, sludge with high salt loads or with chlorides and other aggressive substances need to be conveyed. Although these types of sludge are usually neutralised, the chemical components would still attack metallic materials. This includes most metal hydroxide types of sludge. In addition, the ambient air in the waste water plant often contains acid. The acid and abrasion-resistant plastic pumps are thus ideally suited for these applications, whether with chemically aggressive, viscous or solid-containing contents. All housing parts in contact with the product are made of solid PE (alternatively PTFE) with stainless steel reinforcement plates. The outer fastening parts are also made of stainless steel. The connection pieces of the pumps can also be infinitely rotated by 180°, making it possible to connect them to almost any line. PE is characterised by a very high resistance to abrasion. This makes the pump ideal for use with abrasive slurries. PTFE is also resistant to almost all chemicals, even in the higher temperature range. In cases where an explosive atmosphere can occur, the pumps are also available in conductive plastics with ATEX certification.

CAST METAL PUMP

In many cases the sludge which has to be conveyed to the filter press is chemically neutral as well as without aggressive ingredients. This includes e.g. grinding sludge, rock powder or other oily or aqueous suspensions without chemically aggressive additives. For these applications, the inexpensive high-pressure aluminium pumps can be used. In particular where high temperatures occur together with chemically aggressive sludge, the stainless steel series is recommended, which can be used up to temperatures of 110°C. The cast metal pumps are also available in ATEX-certified versions.
