The swivel plate / drip tray for filter presses is mainly used in automatic or manual designs in order to catch the filtrate escaping from the filter plates during filtration and thus to ensure controlled drainage of the dripping water into the filtrate drain channel. These prevent droplets from reaching conveyor belts or cake waste containers. The respective drip trays are located underneath the plate pack. In addition, the closed drip trays discharge the cleaning water when cleaning the filter plates and filter cloths in the press. To empty the filter press, the drip trays must be swivelled up (automatically) / removed (manually) to expose the discharge chute for the filter cake.

SWIVEL PLATE / DRIP TRAY FOR FILTER PRESSES
MANUAL DRIP TRAY
The manually operated drip tray is located under the filter plate pack, collects the dripping water during filtration and directs it into the filtrate channel. Depending on the size of the filter press, the design is carried out in several segments, which enable individual and independent removal. The divided drip tray is removed manually before the filter press is emptied so that the filter cake can then fall off. The standard drip tray is primarily made of plastic (PP). Other materials on request.
AUTOMATED SWIVEL DRIP TRAY
The swivel plate / drip tray is the automated further development of the simplified, manual drip tray. It consists of two drip tray supports that perform an automatic ramp-up movement when the filter press is emptied, so that the filter cake can drop downwards. After the emptying process, the swivel drip tray closes again and any dripping water that may be produced passes over the tray supports into the filtrate channel again. The entire system, like all other functions, is driven by a hydraulic unit. The system is operated automatically by the press control system. If necessary, the operator switches to manual operation. The drip tray supports are primarily made of PP or stainless steel.
BENEFITS OF AN AUTOMATED SWIVEL DRIP TRAY
- Opening and closing during emptying takes place automatically, saving time and personnel costs
- The opened swivel plate takes over a funnel function for the filter cake, so that the sloping filter cake is specifically directed downwards
